The American Idol finalist, Allison Iraheta, also the only remaining female on the show, gave a stunnig performance of “Someone to Watch Over Me” song.

On April 28, 2009 it was the American Idol Rat Pack Night, with a surprise guest mentor for the contestants, the Grammy and Oscar winner Jamie Foxx. 1960s Rat Pack members included showbiz legends Frank Sinatra, Sammy Davis Jr, Dean Martin, Joey Bishop and others.

Allison Iraheta, 17, took on a standard, Someone to Watch Over Me. The lyrics of the song were written by Ira Gershwin and the music by George Gershwin from the musical “Oh, Kay!” Iraheta’s performance was her best of the entire American Idol Season 8, winning praise from all of the judges.

Randy Jackson said that Allison sang with 9,000 more octaves, just like pop singer Pink.

Kara Dioguardi told Iraheta that she deserves to be in the finals and that she performed beyond her years.

Paula Abdul said that she waited all season to hear her performing a ballad.

Simon Cowell asked Allison if she thought she could win the American Idol. She said“‘I think I can. I think all of us have that chance right now.” Simon Cowell then said “I don’t feel that belief in you still,” and he went on to say, “I have a horrible feeling you could be in trouble tonight.”

Here is Allison Iraheta’s video of the “Someone to Watch Over Me” on the American Idol Season 8 Rat Pack Night.
