Jay Severin

Jay Severin, the host of right-wing radio talk show on Boston’s WTKK-FM radio station, has been suspended from his post after insulting Mexican immigrants. Severin called them “criminaliens,” “primitives,” “leeches,” and “women with mustaches and VD.”

A spokeswoman for the WTKK-FM, Heidi Raphael, stated that Severin had been suspended indefinitely from his show. “I can assure you that the station has not been using the remarks for which he has been suspended in on-air promos,” she said.

According to George Tobia, Severin’s attorney, it’s not clear how long Jay will be suspended. Tobia said that “all we know is it’s indefinite.” “We’re just learning of it, and we’re dealing with it.”

Lot’s of Mexicans and Latinos living in Boston complained to the station management about Severin’s comments about Mexicans immigrants and the swine flu.

Tobia said “it would certainly be unfortunate if someone was suspended because some people didn’t like what he said.”

Jay Severin said in his broadcast: “So now, in addition to venereal disease and the other leading exports of Mexico’s women with mustaches and VD’  now we have swine flu.” “When we are the magnet for primitives around the world — and it’s not the primitives fault by the way, I’m not blaming them for being primitives — I’m merely observing they’re primitive.” “It’s millions of leeches from a primitive country come here to leech off you and, with it, they are ruining the schools, the hospitals, and a lot of life in America.” “We should be, if anything, surprised that Mexico has not visited upon us poxes of more various and serious types already, considering the number of crimaliens already here.”

In 2004 Severin said in a broadcast: “You think we should befriend them; I think we should kill them,” refering to the US Muslims.

He also insulted former Vice President Al Gore, former First Lady and current Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and Senator Edward M. Kennedy.

I could not be happier. Please make the indefinite definite!

    To whom it may concern:
I am writing to you in hopes that you will reconsider the suspension of Jay Severin. I listen to Jay frequently and although I do not always agree with him, he is thought provoking. I understand that some comments he made may have offended people. However, they had a chance to voice their opposition. This is a talk show and anyone can call in and state their opinions, if they are willing to articulate their point of view. No one is forced to listen to Jay and the station can be changed or turned off, if you do not like the program. One thing I have always found refreshing about 96.9, is that you offer a variety of programming encompassing a full spectrum of opinion, without politically correct censorship. This action is a downward step towards assimilation into the status quo. I cannot think of a better way to argue my point, than to quote John Stuart Mill, “If all mankind minus one, were of one opinion, and only one person were of the contrary opinion, mankind would be no more justified in silencing that one person, than he, if he had the power, would be justified in silencing mankind.”

I rejoice in this news!!! Jay Severin should have been suspended eons ago, for all his anti-immigrant, anti-feminist comments. I have often held on the phone desperate to give him a piece of my mind, but never put on air – perhaps for fear of been confronthed by someone who would tell him to simply “SHUT UP”. For all I can guess he is probably from a generation of “potato growers” and has forgotten his roots. I understand there is freedom of speech and that talk shows are a form of entertainment, but you really dont have to go ‘below the belt’ to acclaim such entertainment. Further, what audacity does he have to blame it all on immigrants, after all immigrants do add character and color to this wonderful society.
Sorry Jay, but this was long over due…… and to this announcement, I shall drink tonight….. Yay WTTK for finally taking the stand….
PS. I have no doubt that Hillary Clinton is gleaming too…..

It is not “immigrants” that Jay takes exception to (as you refer to in your comment), but those who are illegal aliens; a huge distinction. This he makes clear in virtually every one of his radio broadcasts, had the message come accross to you.

Jay has always commended and praised those with a strong work ethic and are achievers having been given the opportunities provided by this country – and that includes immigrants, no matter what country they hail from.

What he speaks is the truth and if the world were not so worried about being “politically correct”, they would agree as well. I could not agree more on the things he speaks. Big loss for the station as I will not listen anymore. To the sponsors, speak up and be heard and bring him back. Punish the station financially, hopefully it will throw political correctness out the window !

Ha Ha. I called his radio show once and called him a racist. He sounds like a racist to me. The comments and views he’s stated were definately not pro minority. I enjoyed calling him a racist. He got pissed and told me to define Racist. He thinks he’s smart and he called himself “eleite” I would love to smack him and all his freinds and fans in the mouth because if you think like him then you are him.
He’s just a redneck countryboy that dont know any better. He probably porked a couple chickens back in the day. Im glad he got canned. He sucks. He Jay remember me. Ha Ha You fucking idiot…..

  6. BenRod says:

Jay you are a pig! To say that someone is dirty due to his/her race or nationality is ignorant! You sir are an idiot!

  7. Michele says:

I listen to Jay and I value his point of vue reguardless If I agree with him or not. He speaks the truth about what is going on in this country and people just don’t want to see it and won’t until it is to late. Some times the truth hurts people!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  8. Regular listener says:

Jay Severin has been a voice for division, hatred and fear for ten years polluting Boston’s airwaves and reaching out to the easily influenced and mentally unstable. He is xenophobic, very provincial and small minded. He has also famously lied about having a Pulitzer (as if!) and a masters degree (LOL). This really isn’t far from his usual rants and I am sure the station finally had enough of paying him too much to be an a’hole. Good riddance – I hope he rots away in the obscurity he deserves – Michael Graham is funnier, smarter and more insightful and I look forward to having him take over Jay’s spot permanently.
