Donny Osmond winner of “Dancing with the Stars” 2009

Donny Osmond is the lucky winner of the ABC contest reality program “Dancing with Stars” on Tuesday night.

Three more celebrities made it to finale: Osmond, the singer Mya and Kelly Osbourne, the daughter of Ozzy Osbourne. Mya entered into the finals as a favorite, having won the highest scores on Monday’s show: “I’m just so happy to have made it to the finals”.

The first eliminated was Kelly Osbourne, despite getting the most support from the cheering studio audience. After her elimination, she declared: “It’s been the most, beautiful, amazing experience”.

So Donny Osmond and Mya were the two finalists. Tom Bergeron announced the lucky winner after a long break: Donny Osmond! That was a surprise for some viewers because they thought that Mya will be the one who will take the home the mirrorball trophy.

Donny Osmond shared his happiness with his wife and his sister Marie on stage, while Mya seemed to be a little disappointed. She said “We are so happy to come this far…we had the time of our lives”.

The Tuesday night show was ranked as one of the most-watched shows of the fall. Last week show had an audience of 16.2 million viewers.

In this finale were was great moments offered by the other stars: Whitney Houston chose to sing “I Wanna Dance With Somebody” for her final performance, Cloris, Jerry, and Steve faced off with Derek and Joanna in a dance marathon, Tom Delay got a chance to do the Texas Two Step which was delayed because of an injury that forced him to leave the competition.
